Bosom Friends are bringing their monthly cancer support group to Skipton.
A friendly drop-in group for anyone dealing with a cancer diagnosis – any kind of cancer not just breast cancer – patient or carer.
Come along for a chat and friendship with people who know what you’re going through. Maybe your experiences can help others. The group meets monthly on the second Monday of the month.

BOSOM Friends, a West Craven based charity that offers support, advice and much-needed help to cancer sufferers and their families, is hoping a new group can be opened in Skipton.

Based in West Craven, Bosom Friends was launched in 2000 by founder member and trustee Mary Brennan. She had felt isolated when undergoing treatment for her own cancer and decided to use her own experience to form a support group that would help others.

The idea is very much to promote the work of the group with a view to recruiting volunteers from the craven area who under the guidance of existing members could set up social and peer support meetings in Skipton. It was stressed though that there would be a need for fundraisers in the craven area to supplement the funds of the group in order to extend its services.

The Open Day will be held at Soroptomist Room in skipton on 1st Oct 2013 between 7pm and 9pm
