Classic Car Day

17th August 2013

10:00 am

CLASSIC car fans who visit Rolls-Royce Social Club on August 17th will not only be able to take a look at some of the dream models of old – but also take a ride in them.

A number of older and more modern day classics will be on display that day as part of a fund-raising event that Great Escapes Classic Car Hire, of Harrogate, is staging for Bosom Friends cancer support group.

Among the cars on show will be the fabulous Jenson Interceptor along with its American counterpart, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

There will also be one of the fastest accelerating cars on the road – a Caterham R300 – as well as an MGB Roadster.
The cars will be available for passenger rides from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the organisers simply ask that a minimum donation of £5 is made for each 15 minute ride.

All the money generated will then go to Bosom Friends.

Mark Hyde, who is organising the event, said: “This is a great opportunity for classic car fans to examine some of these great vehicles at close hand and experience what it’s like to ride in them, as well as support a brilliant charity that does so much good in the local community and beyond at the same time.”

Anyone who wants to book a ride in their chosen car, or cars, can contact Mark beforehand on 07972180570. Alternatively they can e-mail him at s.hyde570@btinternet.com
